RIVERWAY PARK

Public BBQ

An outstanding public facility built around free lagoon-style swimming pools along the river — three or four of them, suiting everyone from toddlers to lap swimmers, with lifeguards on duty and no charge at all. Change rooms are spacious with free cold showers and a couple of hot ones. A library on site offers free wi-fi, and the surrounding parkland borders a stream home to hundreds of turtles, with covered public barbecues and plenty of picnic tables throughout. Everything is clean and much of it near new. Aqua aerobics runs a couple of mornings a week. Easily worth a full afternoon.
